The production of ventricular arrhythmias following ligation of the right coronary artery in dogs.

چکیده
Right ventricular infarction and associated ventricular arrhythmias. once considered rare. are now commonly recognised in patients with inferior wall infarction and clinical data is strongly suggestive of that cardiovascular changes occuring with human myocardial infarction vary importantly depending upon the site of myocardial infarction. Sympathetic hyper-activity is associated with the anterior wall infarcts while posterior wall infarcts lead to increased parasympathetic activity. Prevalence of second and third degree heart block is more frequently associated with the posterior wall infarction than after anterior wall infarction (1-5). The ventricular arrhythmias associated with inferior wall infarction responded very well to bretylium. However the left ventricular tachycardia associated with anterior myocardial inchaemia or infarction did not (6).

The effects of ATP-dependent potassium channel opener; pinacidil, and blocker; glibenclamide, on the ischemia induced arrhythmia in partial and complete ligation of coronary artery in rats
Objective(s): Electrical inhomogeneity between ischemic and non ischemic myocardium is the basis of arrhythmia which occurs following coronary artery occlusion. The leakage of potassium from the ischemic region to the non ischemic region is very effective in the generation of these arrhythmias. The aim of this study is to research the effect of ATP-dependent potassium (KATP) channel blocker (gl...
متن کاملVentricular arrhythmias induced by sympathomimetic amines in unanesthetized dogs following coronary artery occlusion.
Epinephrine and noiepinephiine, in doses which cause little ectopic activity in unanesthetized normal clogs, produce exaggerated ectopic responses about the fourth day after coronary ligation, when the arrhythmias caused by the ligation per se have subsided. These responses persist for approximately 12 days after ligation and suggest reactivation of latent ectopic foci. Observations with methox...
متن کاملHYPOVENTILATION PRIOR TO ISCHEMIA PRECONDITIONS RAT MYOCARDIUM
Repetitive episodes of brief regional ischemia have been shown to reduce the severity of life-threatening ventricular anhythrnias and infarct size that occur during prolonged occlusion of the coronary artery. This phenomenon is known as ischemic preconditioning. During studies in anesthetized, open chest Wistar rats, we accidentally observed that poorly ventilated animals had a reduced seve...

Coronary artery reperfusion which has become one of the important therapeutic interventions is associated with development of cardiac arrhythmias. The present investigation was carried out to study the role of beta receptor blocking agents with different properties on reperfusion induced ventricular arrhythmias in intact rabbit heart. After anaesthesia the rabbit hearts were subjected to 30 min...
متن کاملInstantaneous and delayed ventricular arrhythmias after reperfusion of acutely ischemic myocardium: evidence for multiple mechanisms.
To characterize the electrophysiologic properties of the ventricular arrhythmias occurring during reperfusion after acute coronary artery ligation, a study was undertaken to correlate the time course of appearance of such arrhythmias with specific electrophysiologic mechanisms. Thirty-seven dogs survived 30minute ligations of the left descending coronary artery, and all had either instantaneous...
